Rupa Ranganathan handles Investor Relationships & Marketing for NSR and joined the team in 2008 in the New York office. Previously, she led the “Multicultural” practice at Strategic Research Institute, a New York based conference company for nearly ten years. During this time she produced and coordinated over 75 executive conferences on marketing, multicultural marketing, multicultural healthcare, cosmeceuticals, pharma and biotech, branding and e-marketing with a focus on Hispanic, Asian-American, African-American and Urban marketing strategies, channels and best practices. Between 1993 and 1996, she was General Manager Marketing for Chennai based Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited and was closely involved with the launch of a cancer specialty center in Chennai and the launch of a super-specialty hospital in New Delhi. In this role, she has worked with multiple stakeholders including, physicians, patient education experts, media and national and international collaborators.
Rupa started out her career in advertising working as a Research Investigator with Indian Market Research Bureau in Chennai and then as a Management Trainee with JWT’s Chennai office. She then worked with leading advertising firms in Mumbai, including Ulka (now FCB) working on both regional and multinational brands.
She has been a tutor with the Literacy Volunteers of Morris County. Prior to joining New Silk Route, In 2008, Ms. Ranganathan was appointed Senior Scholar by Thomas Jefferson University’s Department of Health Policy for one year. She was the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Madras, Shakti and is a life member at the South Asian Journalists’ Association.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Madras.
